The Workout Plan

The first step in any workout plan is to assess previous injuries, medical conditions or physical attributes that may limit your ability to perform certain types of exercises.

POSTURE

Posture is a critical element of your success in the gym. Poor posture can inhibit your ability to put maximum effort into your workouts,  lead to long term injuries and even health issues. You may be eager to get into intense exercise right away but postural correction must be the starting point when necessary.

BALANCE

Many older clients hire trainers for help with balance issues. Don't wait until poor balance becomes an issue to start focusing on it. My workout routines will always involve an element of balance work for everyone.

CORE

Core strength is essential for building overall strength. Your core is your foundation, not to be confused with abs. Core and abs are not the same thing. I will teach you how to build a strong core so you have a good foundation for every exercise you do and every task in daily life. This builds strength and helps protect against back injuries.

FLEXIBILITY

Flexibility and mobility are closely related but not the same. Flexible muscles are important to guard against injury when lifting weights. A mobile body is one that uses flexibility to move efficiently when exercising and performing daily tasks.

STRENGTH

My strength training practices will incorporate all of these elements together, to achieve a body that is stronger but also moves more efficiently. My focus is on functional training. We will make you stronger in the gym and also better prepared for physical tasks in every day life.
